PROFILE

Giovanna Bindi, born in 1963 in Florence, Italy. Tuned her natural talent for art at ART SCHOOL P. PETROCCHI in Pistoia. From her studio in Montecatini Terme, Giovanna rapidly gained popularity and acclaim.

Making full use of her love of music, poetry and meditation she took her talent into infant schools where she worked for a period as an Art Teacher.

In 2004 she moved to London where she continued to work with children in the Arts. In 2007 after she had the commission to illustrate the children's story book "An invitation from the fairy" she decided to write and illustrate various stories for children inspired by the nursery where she is still working in South London.

Watching the video's stories its evident that Giovanna has an ability to interact with children. She involves them in a sort of visual art education expressed through performing the stories during the workshops.

Giovanna's Puppet Shows

I've always loved to write stories and luckily I developed my passion into my career. One day a friend on her way to my house found two puppets on the side of the road and gave them to me. She suggested that I take them to the nursery where I work. At first I wasn't sure about the idea as I thought maybe puppets would be boring. However, I decided to see the children's reaction before I would throw them away.

From that moment my passion for puppets began! As soon as I saw the wonder in the childrens' eyes, I knew that a beautiful relationship had begun.
For the first time I felt a magical connection between me and the children.

The wonder and magic that comes from innocent play .

The line which separates adults and children became a circle of energy that flowed between us and that allowed me to share joy with them. This was the moment my passion was born and I have been cultivating it ever since through my work as a children's entertainer.

All my stories are original, unique and take ideas from life which inspire me.
Some stories are taken from the natural world and I weave educational nuances into them.
My stories have a philosophical approach with moral endings.

I usually improvise during my shows and that allows the children to interact within my stories in their own special ways. My stories are adaptable for all ages from 1 to 8.

I use various materials and music to encourage the children to express themselves through the magic of storytelling.

My objective goes beyond “children's entertainment” as I wish to positively inspire young minds and hearts to view life in a beautiful way.
